SCCBC Welcomes Guest Speaker Niraj Singh of Kaiser Permanente

As the Executive Director for the Santa Cruz market expansion, Niraj Singh is responsible for leading and supporting the new Santa Cruz market area expansion, including the clinical services distribution strategy.

Niraj joined the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Compliance, Ethics & Integrity department as its Area Compliance and Privacy Officer in September 2007. For this role, Niraj’s primary responsibility was to ensure that Kaiser Permanente met its compliance, ethics and integrity standards with respect to all applicable laws, regulations and accreditation requirements.

Since 2013, Niraj has had executive oversight over Capital Projects. In 2014, she assumed an additional assignment as the acting Support Services leader and provided management oversight over Facility Services. She is also currently leading the design and operational planning committee for the new replacement hospital targeted for 2023.

Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente San Jose, Niraj brought with her over 15 years of extensive health care industry operational and leadership experience in strategic development, performance improvement, health information system, revenue cycle, finance, accounting, auditing, supply chain, contract negotiations, physician alignment, capital planning and project management, and compliance and privacy.

Niraj holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography, a master’s degree in Geography and a second master’s in Urban Planning/Economics. Niraj is also certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) and is a Certified Trainer for Partners in Leadership, the Accountability Training.

In 2009, she graduated from the San Jose Community Leadership Program. She is an active board member of RotaCare Bay Area Inc., a Rotary Club sponsored non-profit clinical services organization for the economically disadvantaged population. She serves as a Steering Committee member for the Leadership Diversity Development Program (LDDP). Niraj was also the recipient of the 2013 YWCA Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) award.

Niraj also volunteers as a board member for the Bay Area chapter of Pratham S.F. Founded in India, Pratham S.F. is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations, focused on eliminating childhood illiteracy. This organization has become a role model and advisor to programs in several countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
