SCCBC, in partnership with the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce, will host a series of interactive discussion forums with candidates running for the 3rd and 4th District Supervisor seats, as well as for County Sheriff.
The first forum, which is open to the public, will take place on Tuesday, May 6th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Sesnon House on the campus of Cabrillo College.
Supervisor candidates will receive a questionnaire prior to the forum that will focus on topics of interest to the business community. Questions asked at the May 6th forum will largely tie in to those asked in the questionnaire. The forum will be moderated by a member of the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
The second forum (again, open to the public) will be held on Wednesday, May 14th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and will feature the three candidates running for Santa Cruz County Sheriff. The forum will also take place at the Sesnon House on Cabrillo College’s campus.
The candidates, Roger Wildey, Jim Hart and Bob Pursley, will discuss their priorities, views and positions on county-wide issues pertinent to the Sheriff’s office. SCCBC and the SC Area Chamber are developing a concise questionnaire to guide the discussion. That questionnaire, once finalized, will be posted to the SCCBC website. The forum will be moderated by a member of the Santa Cruz County Business Council Board of Directors.
Questions or comments can be directed to (831) 515-2118.
The 4th Annual Santa Cruz County Business Climate Survey is underway.
Led by the the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce, and co-sponsored by organizations including SCCBC, the results of the survey provide local businesses important benchmarks regarding business strategies, performance, and strategic planning. Perhaps more importantly, they give participating business organizations and local political decision makers guidance about what businesses need and want.
Each year at our Annual Membership Meeting, SCCBC releases its Annual Report for the previous year. The 2013 Report was distributed to members and guests on February 27th at the 2014 Annual Membership Meeting.
Welcome to the new Santa Cruz County Business Council website!
We set out to design a site that would clearly communicate who we are and what we do, all while being clear, concise and easy to navigate.
Thanks for visiting.
A friendly reminder that our 2014 SCCBC Annual Membership Meeting is one week from today.
