SCCBC to Host Candidate Forums on May 6th and May 14th

SCCBC, in partnership with the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce, will host a series of interactive discussion forums with candidates running for the 3rd and 4th District Supervisor seats, as well as for County Sheriff.

The first forum, which is open to the public, will take place on Tuesday, May 6th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Sesnon House on the campus of Cabrillo College.

Candidates participating:
3rd District:  Ryan Coonerty, Bob Lamonica
4th District:  Jimmy Dutra, Greg Caput (not yet confirmed), Dana Sales, Terry Medina

Supervisor candidates will receive a questionnaire prior to the forum that will focus on topics of interest to the business community. Questions asked at the May 6th forum will largely tie in to those asked in the questionnaire. The forum will be moderated by a member of the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

The second forum (again, open to the public) will be held on Wednesday, May 14th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and will feature the three candidates running for Santa Cruz County Sheriff. The forum will also take place at the Sesnon House on Cabrillo College’s campus.

The candidates, Roger Wildey, Jim Hart and Bob Pursley, will discuss their priorities, views and positions on county-wide issues pertinent to the Sheriff’s office. SCCBC and the SC Area Chamber are developing a concise questionnaire to guide the discussion. That questionnaire, once finalized, will be posted to the SCCBC website. The forum will be moderated by a member of the Santa Cruz County Business Council Board of Directors.
